Deadline Date:

Description:

Request a Grant Writer

In-kind grants of innovative toys valued at up to $2,000 to USA, Canada, and International museums to inspire creative play among young museum guests. Recipient museums will benefit from receipt of the Funding Source's patented products including bricks and stackable construction pieces to be used in creating or improving a maker space. A maker space is defined as a gathering place for students to explore and discover through the use of tools and materials.

The Strictly Briks Award Program is focused on children’s education and creative development. The mission of the Program is to expand creative play while inspiring a new generation of engineers, designers, mathematicians, and beyond. Strictly Briks aims to provide awards and establish strategic partnerships that will further the vision of “Dream, Create, Grow.”

Strictly Briks offers numerous colors, shapes, and sizes of stackable base plates and towers to new types of play like their patented silicone straps and The Cube. They provide an affordable platform and structure for kids to build from and encourage combining with toys that many people already have, like action figures, mini figures, cars, stuffed animals, etc., to play in a new way and let kids’ creativity shine. Strictly Briks encourages kids to dream amazing things, create and build imagination into reality, and grow into the scientists, mathematicians, engineers, designers, inventors, and problem solvers of tomorrow. They encourage STEM-based creative play and to impact kids by developing innovative brick construction toys. They provide opportunities for children to enhance educational skills while having fun.

Organizations will receive up to $2,000 in Strictly Brik’s products to create a “Maker Space,” in their respective museum. (A makerspace is a place where students can gather to create, invent, tinker, explore and discover using a variety of tools and materials.)

Award proposals will be evaluated by the following criteria:

- Eligible museum submits a proposal for a program or initiative that aligns with the Strictly Briks Award Program Judging Criteria (see below).
- Award proposal addresses important considerations: Geographic reach (city, state, regional or national level); employee engagement and ability to reach children; appropriate scope of the initiative being supported or impact made to the community.

Strictly Briks accepts Award applications from museums that:

- Have a vision that aligns with the Foundation's commitment to Pre-K-8 STEM education.
- House a permanent educational, “maker space,” area in their respective facility, or the ability to implement one within three (6) months of award date.
- Offer opportunities for community involvement and educational outreach.
