Grant Description
Grants to USA and territories public, private, and charter schools to implement a high-quality STEM program at the middle school level. Funding is intended to cover the fees associated with teacher training and program implementation. Priority will be given to schools with a significant BIPOC population or a significant number of students eligible for free and reduced lunch.

Project Lead The Way is making grants available to schools across the US that are interested in implementing the PLTW Gateway program for the first time for the 2025-2026 school year.

Allowable Expenses: PLTW Participation Fee

Grantee may implement any PLTW Gateway units of their choosing.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Eligible schools must be located in a US state, US territory, or DC.

All schools are encouraged to apply including: private schools, charter schools, rural schools, public and private schools that serve 40% or more students who are eligible for free and reduced lunch, public and private schools that serve a minority majority student population, as well as districts/schools seeking to begin PLTW or existing PLTW districts seeking to offer a complete PLTW program pathway.

Unallowable Expenses: Benefits; Meals; Infrastructure; Renovations; Indirect Costs; Any other expenses unspecific as allowable; Equipment and supplies listed as Optional; Training Cancellation Fees; Training Substitution Fees; Trainings where there was a no-show; Trainings where a credential was not earned; Salaries; Stipends for use during PLTW Core Training; Stipends unrelated to PLTW Core Training

Pre-Application Information
Apply By: June 30, 2024

This is a rolling grant opportunity. Awards will be made twice monthly.

Teachers at awarded schools have until October 1, 2027 to register for PLTW Gateway Core Trainings using their grant awarded training seats.

Please note, there is no cash value for this grant. If awarded, funds will not be sent directly to the awarded school. Instead, PLTW will directly apply grant awarded items to the school's PLTW account.

Estimated Size of Grant
This grant will directly cover the following costs associated with implementation of PLTW Gateway:
• 2025-2026 PLTW Gateway participation fee;
• 2026-2027 PLTW Gateway participation fee; and
• Six (6) Online PLTW Gateway Core Training registration fees.

Total Award: $9,100
• 2025-2026: $8,150
• 2026-2027: $950
• 2027-2028: $0

Term of Contract
Grantee must offer PLTW Gateway for the 2025-2026, 2026-2027, and 2027-2028 academic years. Grantee must offer at least one PLTW Gateway unit in the 2025-2026 academic year and must offer one additional different unit in the 2026-2027 academic year.
