Future Flight Academy, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing youth for success through aviation, aerospace, drone technology, STEM education, leadership development, and workforce readiness. Through hands-on programs such as Future Flight Explorers and the Aviation Innovation Lab, students ages 14–24 gain technical skills, confidence, and exposure to high-demand careers while developing leadership, financial literacy, and critical thinking skills. - Future Flight Academy provides hands-on aviation and STEM education programs that prepare youth for future careers through experiential learning, leadership development, and workforce readiness. Our flagship programs include Future Flight Explorers, a six-week aviation and STEM exploration program; the Aviation Innovation Lab, featuring drone technology, robotics, flight simulation, coding, and virtual reality; and an advanced FAA Part 107 career pathway for eligible students. Participants also benefit from financial literacy, career exploration, industry guest speakers, mentorship, field experiences, and workforce development activities designed to build confidence, technical skills, and lifelong success.

- Future Flight Explorers
Target Population: Youth ages 14–18
Future Flight Explorers is Future Flight Academy's flagship six-week Saturday program designed to introduce youth to aviation, aerospace, drone technology, robotics, STEM education, leadership development, and workforce readiness. Through hands-on learning experiences, students explore flight principles, educational drones, coding, virtual reality, robotics, and career pathways while developing communication, teamwork, critical thinking, financial literacy, and leadership skills. The program serves as an entry point into aviation and emerging technology careers while building confidence and preparing participants for future educational and workforce opportunities.
Aviation Innovation Lab
Target Population: Youth ages 14–18
The Aviation Innovation Lab is the center of Future Flight Academy's experiential learning model. Equipped with educational drones, flight simulators, robotics, virtual reality technology, coding platforms, and STEM resources, the lab provides students with immersive experiences that connect classroom concepts to real-world careers. Participants learn how aviation and drone technology are transforming industries including construction, public safety, agriculture, healthcare, environmental science, engineering, surveying, media, and infrastructure. The lab also serves as a hub for community workshops, career exploration, guest speakers, and industry demonstrations.
FAA Part 107 Career Pathway
Target Population: Youth ages 16 and older
Future Flight Academy's FAA Part 107 Career Pathway prepares eligible students for the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate, an industry-recognized credential that opens doors to employment and entrepreneurship in the rapidly growing uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) industry. Participants receive instruction in FAA regulations, airspace, weather, safety, mission planning, and drone operations while learning how UAS technology is used across multiple industries. This pathway helps students transition from exploration to workforce readiness by providing a direct connection to viable careers in aviation and emerging technologies.
Girls in Flight
Target Population: Girls ages 14–18
Girls in Flight is a leadership and career exploration initiative designed to encourage young women to pursue opportunities in aviation, aerospace, STEM, and emerging technologies. Through hands-on activities, mentorship from female professionals, leadership development, and career exploration, participants gain the confidence and skills needed to thrive in industries where women have historically been underrepresented.
Workforce Readiness & Leadership Development

- Future Flight Academy primarily serves youth ages 14–18 throughout Monroe County, New York, with a focus on students who have historically had limited access to aviation, aerospace, STEM, and workforce development opportunities. Our programs are open to all youth and are designed to inspire future leaders through hands-on learning, mentorship, and career exploration. We are committed to expanding access to high-growth career pathways while helping participants develop the confidence, technical skills, and leadership abilities needed for lifelong success.

- Future Flight Academy is working to become a leading Aviation Innovation and Workforce Development Center that prepares the next generation of leaders through aviation, aerospace, drone technology, STEM education, leadership development, and workforce readiness. In the short term, our objectives are to launch the Aviation Innovation Lab, deliver Future Flight Explorers cohorts, expand access to underserved youth, and build strong partnerships with schools, employers, and community organizations. Long-term, we aim to establish a sustainable workforce pipeline that connects students to industry-recognized credentials, including the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, internships, higher education, and high-demand careers in aviation, engineering, public safety, construction, healthcare, agriculture, environmental science, and other emerging technology fields while serving as a trusted community resource for innovation and career exploration.

- Future Flight Academy is seeking grant funding to support the development and expansion of the Aviation Innovation Lab and its youth aviation and STEM workforce development programs. Funding will be used to purchase educational drones, robotics equipment, flight simulators, virtual reality technology, laptops, STEM curriculum, and participant supplies, as well as support facility costs, insurance, program materials, transportation assistance, and scholarships. Grant funding will also help expand Future Flight Explorers, the FAA Part 107 Career Pathway, and leadership and workforce readiness programming, providing hands-on learning experiences that prepare youth for high-demand careers in aviation, aerospace, technology, engineering, construction, public safety, and other emerging industries.
